Promo Codes

Promo codes allow clients to set different discounts for all of their events or for a specific event. There are 3 types of promo codes:

  • Multi-use code
  • One time use code
  • Upload codes

Discounts can be percentage-based, a specific dollar mount or comped. You can also set a promo code up as a password to make an event or ticket type only available if the password is entered. Only one promo code can be used per order.

Client Level Promo Codes

Client level promo codes can be used for any active event for that client.

Event Level Promo Codes

Event level promo codes can be used for a specific event.

Get Started

Select Promo Codes under Market on the client or event dashboard.

Click on Create a Promo Code to get started.

Choose from three types of promo codes:

  • Multi-use Codes - can be used an unlimited amount of times
  • One Time Use Codes - unique codes that are generated by the system and can only be used once
  • Upload Your Own - upload a csv of codes that can each only be used once

Multi-use Options

  • Promo Code - the actual code the customer will type in
  • Deduction Rules - apply a discount amount (ex. $10.00 off), a percentage off, or 100% off  (comp/free ticket)
    • When deducting from an entire order, this does not account for fees.
  • Password Protected - instead of a discount, the event or specific ticket type will be password protected
  • Group Discount - (ex. 10% off when you buy 2 tickets) only works with a single ticket type -- if multiple ticket types are in the cart, the feature will not work (currently)
  • Apply Discount To - choose to apply the discount to all ticket types or just one
  • Promo Start + End - set rules for when the promo should start and stop

One Time Use Options

  • One Time Use Code - enter the number of promo codes you need and the prefix you want for them (ex. FESTIVAL_ will generate codes like this: FESTIVAL_1234, FESTIVAL_1235)
  • After the discount rules are filled out, hit the Generate Promo Codes button to generate a csv of all of the one time use codes.

Upload Your Own Options

  • Click Choose File to upload your csv of promo codes and check the csv format example link to make sure you have the file set up properly

The promo code list page will display the code name, discount, event(s), start and end date + time, status (active or inactive) and quantity available. Toggle the status with the lock icon and edit with the pencil icon.
